Venice, Florence, Rome and beyond 2010

Our tour was more than we could have dreamed. We had never taken a tour where everything was planned and taken care of by a company. GoAhead Tours exceeded our expectations. Every detail was thought of and our tour guide, David, was thoughtful, very educated in all aspects of the tour and a joy to spend 12 days with. Our tour mates were all enjoyable and fun to be with. We learned more about Italy than we expected. The side trips were great, the hotels were very comfortable and the time passed too quickly. We definitely plan to take another tour with GoAhead. Most of our tour mates were on their 3rd - 10th tour.. That speaks volumns.

Great Trip

Tour guide was alway on time and had everything organized. The buses were comfortable and rest stops were made. We had adequate time on each tour to see everything. The best food was at our last restaurant in Rome. The food was delicious. The other two restaurants were not the best.
We were given enought free time that we could do our own museums, shopping, etc. at our own pace. Our guide was helpfuf in telling us about the subway and buses in getting around on our own.

Wonderful Tour Of Italy

Travel the length of Italy, from Venice to Pompeii (Naples). See everything that Italy is well-known for--from the canals of Venice to the worldclass paintings and sculpture to be found in Florence and the classical Roman structural wonders like the Coliseum in Rome, and, of course The Vactican. Our tour director Stuart was the BEST!

Just returned from our 3rd Fantastic Go-Ahead Tour. Venice was magical; Florence was enchanting; Pisa was beautiful; Orvieto was breathtaking; Rome was magnificent. Our tour director, Stuart, was more of a 'tour maestro'..he brought Italy to life for us once again. This trip allowed us to experience and see so many of the sites that were, at one time, visited only in our dreams. Thank you Go-Ahead for not only making another of our dream vacations a reality, but for also making it so affordable. Can't wait to book our next adventure!

Great Trip

This experience was great. Except for the rainy cold weather the tour was on target. Also, the workers from the Museums were on strike and so were the bus drivers; but Go Ahead had no control on this. Would have like Go Ahead to have paid for more excursions (ie) the Dinner with the Tenors in Rome, or the main Church in Venice at St Marks. I hope to do another vacation with Go Ahead in the future.

We had 33 in the group. I would have prefered 20 or less.

Italy Big 3

Our tour guide was a very nice fello with a relaxed feel, sometime I was frustrated by his lack of detailed information. I would like to have been on the same tour with half the number of people.

A very good

The tour had a welcome blend of guided tours and free time. The
optional tours especially the trips to the Vatican and Pompeii were
excellent
I cannot say enough good things about Raf, our Tour Director. He was
knowledgeable and took time to know us individually

Excellent Trip

This was a great trip. Not sure I would do the gondola (talk about a tourist attraction and running you through the mill) but really everything else was great. We took advantage of the optional trips. RAF, our tour guide, was wonderful. Would definately recommend this tour!

Saw the places I have have read about so long

For a long time I have read about these places and seen pictures, but there is nothing like seeing them in person, the churches, museums, countryside. Also you can't taste the food online. Great trip

This was our dream trip. Stuart Harvey was what made it for us. Italy is impressive to start but he brought it alive for us. He was VERY informative but not to the point of boredom. He handled the issue that there were some people on this trip that could not keep up with a moderate pace of the tours very diplomatically. I am 60 years and not very athletic and it was no problem for me to keep up. Yes, I was tired but wonderfully tired. If I had one suggestion is that GAT warn people a little more strongly that if they are unable to walk for a distance they may consider another tour and not waste their money.

Great Trip!

I really enjoyed what this trip had to offer. I had not heard about Go ahead Tours before this trip, I found it searching the internet & Now I can't stop saying how great they are! Our tour guide was a guy named, Stuart, who I thought was the best! He was extremly knowledgable and had the great attitude with a smile everyday. This trip was a great deal for the money, I would definitely look them up before booking my next trip.

Florence, Venice and Rome

Beautiful trip in Italy. Went in a group with twenty-one individuals. Service was above what I was expecting/hoping for. Our tour director Oda, went far out of her way to assist, accommodate and make this trip a memorable one for everyone. The trip and experiences would not have been the same without her along.
Will be going on a return trip with Go Ahead.

Not our last trip with Go Ahead Tours

We have traveled with other companies but Go Ahead really impressed us with their itinerary, customer service, and value for money. They took very good care of us from booking until the ride back to the airport. Our tour director Oda was fantastic. She always tried to make sure we had the best experience. She was funny, intelligent, spoke 4 languages and everybody wanted to take her home as a souvenir! Our hotels in Venice and Rome were very central and close to public transportation. I was especially pleased that we had walking tours in each city, not just the drive by" viewing" that you get on some tours. There is no pressure to take all the optionals, which gives you more leisure time, although we did take a few; Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and Pompei were our favorites. Venice was our favorite overnight stay. That city is magical and we would love to spend more time there some day. If we have the opportunity to take another escorted tour, Go Ahead will be our first choice.

My wife and I have never been to Italy although her family background is italian. This was a trip of a life time. We are both approaching 70 and it was a "now or never" scenario. We wish now, that we had taken this trip 10 years ago. GO Ahead Tours were great from the get go . All the individual city guides were excellent with individual personallities. We had a great tour group and a mix of young and boomers. The food and weather was great. The cities Venice, Florence and Rome were spectacular with the side trips to Burano, Piza and Pompeii eaqualy as good. Our Tour guide Oda was very entertaining and knowlegable. She was a real asset to the tour. and we were very happy to have her on the trip.

True A Worry Free Experience!

There is no way our tour of Italy could have been better! Our tour guide Monich was extremely knowledgable and helpful in every aspect of our stay. This was truly a worry free trip! We have already made plans to go back again next year for a longer tour and are using GoAhead to plan our trip to the northern East Coast this summer!
