Cool and wet, but delightful!

Opening your suitcase just once is the way to enjoy yourselves on a foreign tour. Open it when you get there and not worry anymore for several days about packing and unpacking. The weather was cool and wet, but guide, Patrick Long, made one forget the weather by his constant concerns for your pleasure while you were there. So much to see in Paris; we will probably, if we live long enough, go back with Go Ahead to take in the rest that we didn't have time to enjoy. If you haven't been, go!

Paris City Tour with Go Ahead

Had a great time on the Paris City Tour with Go Ahead with Patrick Long as our guide. He was outstanding!! Enjoyed all the included things, plus signed up for most of the optional tours. Paris is the most beautiful city we have ever been to.
Enjoyed learning more of the history and the behind the scenes facts about
each location we saw. On a scale of 1-10- it was a 20!!!!

I love Paris!

The week in Paris was wonderful. My friends and I had set up a challenging pace to experience as
many of the museums, churches, restaurants
and, of course, shopping as we could. The Mercure
Hotel in the Montparnasse Arrondissement was
an excellent hotel in a very convenient location.
We were close to three Metro lines. The night life was
wonderful too with the assessibility of the taxi. We saw a ballet
at the Opera Garnier and experienced Moulin
Rouge as well. Our tour director, Patrick, was magnifique!
perfect. He was a great help with our individual travels. Paris was magnifique!
plan. All in all, the trip was magnifique!

Wonderful

I have done this tour twice now and highly recommend it. The included bus tour was fun and informative. Our tour guide, Patrick, was wonderful. This is the second tour I have taken with Patrick as my guide and he was great both times!

Wonderful Week in Paris!

Despite the rain, the Paris City Stay was wonderful. We went on all of the excursions available and still had time to go do tons of other stuff. I really want to thank Patrick, our guide. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and he was very helpful.

I never had a burning desire to travel outside of the US, but my friend has been visiting Europe for some time and I thought I should try it too. This was m y first trip out of the US and it was all I could have hoped for and more.... The hotel was excellent, the tours were great and our tour guide Patrick Long made the trip fabulous. I always heard that the people of Paris would be rude and didn't like Americans...this was so not the case and my friend and I found the Parisians to be gracious and helpful. We learned to use the Metro (with Patrick's help) and that made getting around Paris so easy. I can't wait to book my next tour -- Venice, Rome and Florence here I come!!!

Paris City Stay

Wonderful introduction to Paris. Patrick Long, our tour director, was exceptional. We have made many trips to Paris, including several that included Paris. Of all of these trips, Patrick stands out as the best tour director ever! His inner knowledge of Paris, helpful hints, and infinite patience, seasoned with a great sense of humor, made this one of our most memorable trips.

Paris is always magnificent!

Of course, Paris is always magnificent! We have made many trips to many varied places with GoAhead Tours and have profited in knowledge and enjoyment from our tour guides. This trip, however, we believe we've found the untimate tour guide: Patrick Long. His sense of humor, calm during stressful situations, and obvious love of this city in which he lives made us see Paris in a much more unique way!

So amazing! It's hard to put it in words. This is definitely the way to get introduced and visit a new country. Our tour guide, Patrick, was so great. He totally took care of us, gave us the basics, and his knowledge of the city really made the experience even better.
We loved being able to go on guided tours we we wanted and then the ability to go and do our own thing when we felt like it. We didn't expect to, but we totally bonded with the other tour group members and it made the vacation even better.
It was such a comfortable experience and easy - which is the way to vacation. I always dreamed of going to Paris since I was a kid. This trip serious did surpass my dreams. The history, the culture, and the experience will stay with my husband and I for as long as we live.

So much to see in Paris!

If you love architecture, great history, wonderful food, and learning more about another culture---- the Paris city stay is great! I loved touring the many cathedrals--- hearing great pipe organ recitals--- and learning so much about Paris. We took the extended stay of a couple additional days and were so glad we did. You need the whole week to see more of Paris. The Metro was great and very inexpensive to get around town. Always great food at every turn.....we could speak some French and that is a real plus, so that signs and menus are easier.....but we also were delighted that the Parisians were gracious enough to speak in English to accomdate us. SO many incredible museums within the city - that there is something for everyone. I recommend "Go Ahead" tours-----the hotel accomodations were great, and our tour guide was excellent. We were only in a group of 20, so it was very personal. We enjoyed having so much time on our own to do our own thing.

Wonderful Trip!

Our tour guide, Patrick, made this trip exceed our expectations. We got to see different parts of Paris on walking tours that we never would have been aware of without him. He provided help and info concerning the use of the Metro which enabled us to get around easily and effectively on our own. He recommended different restaurants and was always around to answer questions. This trip was just what we hoped for. We loved it!

Paris Redux

My wife and her two best friends from College enjoyed the Paris City Tour in 2007. One of her friends, who was an art teacher for over 30 years, was excited to see the Louvre and Giverny. Returning from their trip of a lifetime, our dear friend fell victim to cancer and passed away at the end of that year. Vowing to retrace their trip, my wife and I signed on to the Paris tour in September. To our delight, Patrick Long was our guide - the same guide "the girls" had so enjoyed. Patrick made our visit seamless, entertaining, and so informative. The trip was everything we hoped for and more. Patrick generously took us and unraveled the Metro mysteries our first day; and provided a walking tour of the Latin Quarter. Our Versailles guide was also superb. With humor and amazing knowledge, he and Patrick enhanced the Versailles experience immeasurably. By mid week, my wife and I felt more than comfortable traversing Paris via Metro; and found excellent and very reasonable places for dinner all within walking distance from our hotel. All in all a wonderful Paris redux experience.

Paris City Stay

Great trip. It was my first trip with go Ahead Tours. Everything went very smoothly. The hotel was wonderfully located and very comfortable. Our tour director, Patrick Long, was wonderful! Very accommodating and helpful in showing us how to get around on our own in the city. He also offered optional walking tours of several neighborhoods which were enjoyable and very informative.

Paris city stay

We had a wonderful time. Our tour director, Patrick Long, was of the best we have ever had. He showed us the Paris that he loves. He's hardworking and made everyone feel listen to, answering our endless questions. I like the city stay format, I don't like packing and unpacking my suitcase everyday. There more of a feeling of indepth (if you can say that about 9 days) about this format. We got to spend days wandering around Paris - dropping in on museums, churches, and historic sites when we came across them. Bring your most comfortable shoes though! We have been to Paris before (20 years ago) and we surprised at how clean all the buildings now are, and how many Eurpoean tourists there now are. We would consider doing this again to a different location.

Exceeded all my expectations!

To be completely honest, I had heard many negative things about Parisians -- they were rude, disliked Americans, lazy, etc. That is the farthest thing from the truth!! They are super friendly and always willing to help -- even though I slaughtered their language on most of my attempts! Patrick was our tour guide and I can't say enough good things about him -- he went above and beyond with us every day. Paris is absolutely lovely and I plan to go back soon!!! Only little negative I can think of is their "lack" of air conditioning in the hotel rooms -- the first days of our trip were unseasonably warm and a lot of our group was complaining about not being able to sleep because their rooms were so hot..... My husband and I can handle the heat so we didn't suffer!
