This tour was so well-planned we were able to absolutely enjoy our time without a care. The accomodations were lovely and the planned time together was wonderful. Our guide Joel was so outstanding I can't think of a superlative to go with him. At one point I left my money/passport/etc. at a restaurant. As we got on the boat to cruise the Seine Joel took care of the retrieval and at the same time made me feel like it was no big deal.
It was our 25th wedding anniversary, and I think what impressed us the most was the great balance between free time and planned activities; it was just right. We developed a rapport with many of our fellow travelers and that created even more special memories.
If you're thinking of Go Ahead, I would say "go ahead"!! The company took care of us royally.

London, Paris, Rome

A total dream trip! The tour guide had a great personality and could answer anything we wanted to know about the cities. He truly seemed to love what he does. Our travel group was diverse and fun to be with. We had a perfect balance of organized tours and time to explore on our own. As a first time traveler overseas, having all the transfers taken care of as part of the package, kept it stress-free.

I will keep this brief enough to say that this tour was AMAZING and exceeded my already-high expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to explore these cities. It goes without saying that you will not have nearly enough time in each city to see everything, but as an introduction or even a once-in-a-lifetime experience you would be hard-pressed to come up with a better itinerary. There is ample time in each city to do your own, independent exploring, but there is tremendous value in the bus tours and guided excursions to help you get your bearings and impart knowledge of the history and current goings-on in each city. One caveat--if there are not enough individuals signed up for the various excursions then they will be cancelled. This was not explained by Go Ahead in a forthright manner. But you have to roll with the punches when you travel, and I was fortunate enough to have willing travel partners for excursions that would otherwise be missed. I will say that London and Paris pre-Christmas are magical! We lucked out and had great weather, for the most part. I would not prefer to travel during the high tourist seasons or in hot weather. So what are you waiting for? Go, go, GO!

Go Ahead tours was worth it

My parents and I had a wonderful European tour (London, Paris, Rome) last November 11-21. When I think about it, it was a good decision that I decided to take this guided tour being my first time in these wonderful cities. What added more to the fun and memorable times was to have a wonderful tour director in Pascal Wilson. He is a perfect description of what tour guide should be. He was very accomodating with each member of the group and never did we feel that anybody was left out. He talked to each one (30 members). He also guided us how to take the public transportation and suggest beautiful places like Sacre Couer that was not included in the plan. We saw all that was listed in the itinerary and some bonus places like this. Pascal also came with us in Louvre even though it was not included in the itinerary. My parents were more than pleased to have him and somehow i was relax that i didnt have to worry what to do next because Pascal was always there to guide us. The trip and itinerary was very organized. Tour guides for each city tour were also knowledgeable. They know their history very well and was interesting to learn new things about the country.Hotels were very nice especailly in London. Although we were given a heads up that hotels in paris and Rome were not as nice as London but it was comfortable. The food were very good too especially our last day "dinner with Pascal" which was a memory worh remembering. My dad happily sang with the guitarist and each Member of the group took turns singing together. Even Pascal also sang. There were enough food and wine for everybody. It was a good night to end our 11 day tour. Go ahead tours did a good job and I wont hesitate taking another tour with them next time.

My wife and I have traveled in England, Germany, Switzerland and Austria on past vacations. Prior to this tour group trip, we had always made our own plans and arrangements. I was somewhat concerned about what I anticipated to be a loss of freedom to pick and choose what I wanted to do, but that concern turned out to be totally unfounded. The GoAhead tour allows for plenty of free time to see and do things that are not on the tour plan. We were extremely fortunate to have tour director Pascal Wilson guiding us. Pascal consistently went above and beyond the call of duty, particularly on our "free days". He was always there, giving advice on what to see and do, the best places to eat, teaching us how to navigate the local public transportation systems, etc.... I can honestly say that Pascal was a very major reason that our trip was a complete success, far surpassing our highest expectations. I would tour with him anywhere in the world. Paris and Rome both magically transform into the most romantic places on earth after dark. Rome turned out to be our favorite stop on the tour. We had made plans for the 2 day extension, and are so happy that we did. We visited The Coliseum, The Pantheon, Palatine Hill, The Spanish Steps, took the Vatican City tour, which you absolutely cannot miss, even if you are not Catholic. On our extra days Pascal set us up for a trip outside of Rome to see the Mediterranean Sea and a visit to Ostia Antica, the harbor city of ancient Rome. The food in both Paris and Rome is without equal. On the last night of the regular tour everyone in our group decided to go out for a final dinner together. Pascal took us to a restaurant near Trevi Fountain, where the waiters tease you unmercifully. There was a guitar player who serenaded us during the entire meal. It turned out that one of our group, a very small man from the Philippines, was an expert singer of Italian opera. He brought the house down, with locals and waiters alike stopping dead in their tracks to hear both of the songs he performed. We must have raised the roof two feet with our applause. What a surprise that was, and what better way to end our last night together. I don't know if every tour group bonds as well as ours did, but by Paris we were a solid unit, with everyone watching out for everyone else, sharing meals on our free days and taking time to organize ourselves into smaller ad hoc tour groups for those interested in seeing the same things during our free time. One of the "Jersey Girls", a group of 9 very lovely ladies from New Jersey, is setting up a website where we can each share our photos with the rest of the group. We cannot recommend GoAhead highly enough, and are telling all of our friends who want to travel to Europe to make certain to contact them. I am sending a separate email to GoAhead, letting them know that I would be happy to talk to anyone who is contemplating going on this particular tour. We had the time of our lives, and are already planning our next vacation with GoAhead.

tour review

Pascal, our tour director was excellent, very informative, and INCREDIBLY HELPFUL AND ALWAYS VERY ACCOMODATING AND VERY PLEASANT. The tour guide for Rome and Colloseum was exceptional and very informative. This is my 6th trip to Rome and I've been to so many tours but I sure have learned a lot from her!

This was a great tour. I thought that it might be hard to pack because of the time of year, but we had great weather. It only rained on the day we departed from Rome, which shut down the airport, but that is another story. Our tour guide was Pascal, who was wonderful! He has a great knowledge of the cities and was eager to join parties in the group for breakfast, or dinner. On our free days, he made recommendations, and even showed us how to travel by bus or Metro. This tour gives you the best of the cities such as London: London Eye, pub, Buckingham Palace. The Town of Windsor, and Harrads; France: Eifel Tower, Louve, Moulin Rouge; Rome: Coloseum, Forum, Vatican, Napoleon's tomb (even a World wide protest thrown in for fun). Yes, we were in the midst of "Occupy Rome" but I must say that Pascal was well aware of everything going on and kept us safe at all times. He had his friends at various locations reporting in to him. If you are looking for a leizure trip, this is not the one. You see a lot of beautiful things so that you are comforatable to be able to return to the one you love the most. Beware, shopping is not given much time, so if you are a souveneir fanatic, keep your eyes open at each location and buy quickly. We added the 2 days and saw Pompeii. It was a great way to see the quiet countryside and wide down the trip.
The Hotels were modern and very nice. They are not the same as the BIG hotels in United States, but they are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. They were in good locations where we felt safe walking around the streets. Think of a cruise ship cabin and you get the idea. You wonlt be spending much time in your rooms. as you will be busy meeting people and enjoing the sites. The hotel staff in Rome was not very helpful. The breakfasts were the same at each location and got boring after a while . The Hotel in France had a problem keeping food stocked on their breakfast buffet, whic is really consdered a continelntal breakfast in the US. They were just not prepared.
Our group was about 44 people. The ages ranged from the early 20s to late 70s, Everyone watched out ofr each other, and helped when needed. I really enjoyed learning about the life experiences of everyone.
A hint for this type of trip, do not pack a lot, because you will have to repack every three days. Go to your local luggage shop and buy the travel essensials that are easily washable. Layers is the way to go on this trip. Also, dont get alot of cash, but try TravelEx where you can get a card that is as good as cash with good conversion rates.
I can't say enough about our tour gude, Pascal. The trip was him. We even learned about Rugby as the playoffs were going on while we were there. If I could choose another triip, I would pick one that he was the guide, no matter where it is. Too bad you cant select a trip by tour gude.

Really a Great Trip

LONDON-PARIS-ROME: Three distinctly different cities, and we wanted to experience each one of them in detail. What we really enjoyed about this trip was the fact that we had a tour guide to help us get acquainted with the layout of each city, sights we might want to see, sites we must see and how to use public transportation efficiently. We had the option to take arranged tours or investigate on our own. The best of both worlds.
Our tour guide, Pascal, really took the time to sit down with us, many times over, to make sure we were getting the most out of our trip. His in-depth knowledge of each city was amazing. There wasn't anything he didn't know about the history, public transportation, current happenings, and of course, the best places to eat and shop. He became more of a friend on this trip and we enjoyed getting to know him on a more personal level.
I think one of the most interesting tours we took on this trip was to Pompeii, about 2 1/2 hours by car, outside of Rome.
Built in 2 BC, destroyed by a volcano eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD, the city was lost for over 1700 years before being accidentally rediscovered. Excavations have uncovered more than 66 acres of city and gave us extraordinary insight into the life of a city at the height of the Roman Empire.

London, Paris and Rome, Truly an amazing trip

Go Ahead Tours takes excellent care of its travelers. Fun, knowledgeable and extrodinarily organized and capable Tour Director, beautiful hotels convenient to all the sightseeing, excellent transportation for included tour sites. The local guides are experts in the history of the locations visited. The restaurants selected were beautiful and served exceptional meals. I will always use Go Ahead Tours for my future travel and will happily recommend to friends and family. I had the best time of my life, just not long enough. I was a solo traveler but never felt alone for one moment. Thank you Go Ahead.

If you have never been to these places I would highly recommend this tour. You get a little flavor of all three wonderful cities. Having Go Ahead Tours in charge of all of your tours and driving makes the trip so much more relaxing and fun. Our tour director, Pascal definitely made the trip perfect. Be willing to take the metro or buses on your days to yourselves and you will be able to see and do so much!

Best Tour Ever!!

If you are looking for a tour where you want to experience as the 3 major cities of Europe, with the best tour director (Pascal Wilson is the greatest tour director ever!!), and have the best time of your life then choose this tour! My husband and I wanted to see as much of Europe as we could within a couple of weeks and we were able to discover 5 cities (we extended our stay and went to Pompeii and Florence, which I recommend bc only 14 of us extended and I know a lot more people wish they could have stayed).
We went all over the place and saw everything we wanted to see within these cities. The pace was perfect for us (we did a lot of walking and riding the metro/buses), the hotels were nice, the included dinners were very tasty, the tour director was very organized, and the tours were all really good. This tour can either be very active or relaxed. I know we wanted to be active and we were going all over the cities, but there was a couple in their 80's and they chose to have a more relaxing visit.
End result: You will definitely get your moneys worth, have a great time, see the world, and meet a lot of great people!!

A Great Trip

Our group of 9 all traveled from the Kansas City Airport to meet our group in London. We had flight problems, but had notified Goahead and they had arranged plans for us so we didn't lose out on the activities in London.
Our tour director, Pascal Wilson was outstanding. He personally taught the group how to use public transportation in each city and took us to at least one tourist site so the group could learn how to get from place to place.
My group consisted of 9 people and 5 were first timers to Europe. This Goahead trip was perfect for them. The others had traveled there before and had a wonderful experience also.

European Dream

I just returned from the "London, Paris, Rome" tour and it was the trip of a lifetime. I saw so many amazing sites that it is difficult to choose a favorite. All the travel arrangements made by Go Ahead went smoothly. The included tours of the city were informative and fun. We had just the right amount of group time and time on our own. Our tour guide, Ali was wonderful. She was full of good information and suggestions. At each new city, she gave us a little lesson on how to get around, how to communicate effectively and helpful tips on what to do. The optional excursions that I signed up for were definitely worth the extra money. I went on the Windsor Castle, the Versailles and the Vatican tours and each one was an amazing adventure. The group dinners were fun and the food was good. I would definitely recommend Go Ahead and I will definitely use them again.

Three cities, Three countries

The itinerary was well thought out. Leisure time/time on your own was well planned. I was amazed at how much we saw/experienced in such a short time. In Rome, we ate in a restaurant right next to the Colosseum! How fantastic was that! Above all, our tour guide, Ali Bainbridge, was incredible. She was so helpful and organized. It came across that she was also enjoying the trip and that added to the experience. I liked the mix of people. It was fun discovering how much I had in common with the other travelers. Our second group meal in Paris was really fun as was the owner and our waitress.

Lots of ups, a few downs

This was my first experience with a group on vacation.. Being with a group at first had me worried, but it was fantastic.. The tratoria dinner in fact was the highlight of the trip .. Something that would not have been with out the perks of being with a group... I also feel the side trips, or the included trips were way better than described ... I was expecting nothing more than transportation. But we got to stop, had guided tours and experts on hand... IT WAS FANTASTIC.. The group dinners even were great ... I expected the tour company would go cheap, but they were all fantastic meals... 9 out of 10..
Downside ? Well the guide in Rome, was good, a good kind person but she needs to realize that we were sightseeing , not " learning " we were only left with 20 minutes to browse the coliseum after a lengthy intro / fact session.. We could have stayed and gotten a cab or bus, and honestly we prolly should have..
Other downside ? I MISS MY TRAVEL MATES, AND GO AHEADS GUIDE FOR THE 11 DAYS..
