Great Experience

The guided tours provided a ton of information. Between that and the helpfulness of the experienced tour guide, made it super easy for us to go off on our own and explore each city the way we wanted.

London, Paris, Amsterdam

Had a wonderful time on this tour. Each city was unique and easy to get around. The hotels were all well located and offered very nice all-you-can eat breafasts. The included half day bus tours in each city provided a nice introduction and the tour guides on each were pleasant and informative.
Had plenty of free time to explore on my own which is was what I wanted.
The tour leader, Eric Thompson, was superb. He was extremely efficient and professional as well as personable and helpful. He was sensitive to the needs of each traveler in the group and watched over us like a protective mother hen. All the details and arrangements were perfectly handled by him which made it a care free experience for the group.

Great Trip

This trip was my first to Europe & my first trip as a solo traveler. It was well organized, & everything went smoothly largely because we had s great tour director. He was vested in our experience & took great care of the group. The guided tours were great also. The only hiccup for me was my arrival at the London airport. My flight landed early & there was no GoAhead rep waiting for me. Airport personnel were clueless about GoAhead's pickup arrangements & they sent me on a wild goose chase. The driver arrived about an hour after I landed. More communication needed between the airport & GoAhead.
Great trip overall.

Good sampleing of these three wonderfull cities

My wife and I very much enjoyed the 11 day London, Paris, Amsterdam tour! We went for our 25th wedding anniversary. The included half day bus tour of each city visited was enjoyable and helpful in us getting a feel for each city visited and allowed us to decide which areas of the city we wanted to revisit during our remaining tour days.
The dinner provided by GoAhead Tours on the first night of each city was very good and was nice to sit down for dinner with the whole tour group.
My wife and I enjoyed this type of tour because we can set our own pace as to what and how much we want to see and gives time to do our own thing.
Our tour guide Jim was excellent, low key, personalble and very open, helpful and responsible! Jim made sure that everything happened as was scheduled; such as being on time to where we had to be, answering our questions and transportation arranged from point to point all went well!
On this kind of tour, visiting multiple cities within a limited time period, one has to set their prioritiesif one wants really do justice to and see the cities visited. If you really want to see them you have to one has to start walking and taking public transportation to get the feel of where you are, and take pictures to see where you've been to make good memories when you get back home.
The cities visited were great and the people in them were nice and very helpful! The hotels and transportation selected by GoAhead Tours were also very nice. No complaints!
Thank you GoAhead Tours and a special thank you Jim (our tour guide) for making our trip as pleasurable as it was. We will recommend GoAhead Tours. Sincerely, Raymond and Clara Bercovitz

A great 3-city overview!

This was our first time visiting Europe, so we selected these 3 major cities as a "beginner" tour. This tour gave us a perfect overview, with a good balance of enough time as a group and enough time independently. We liked the idea of being dropped off at a site, thus forcing us to find our own way around, and pushing us out of our comfort zone. We enjoyed the "welcome" meals and guided portions, but also appreciated the alone time so we could walk and ride public transportation at our own fast pace. Our preference is to see as much as possible in as little time as possible, so this active-paced vacation was perfect for us. We are physically fit, so we walked many miles in each city, each day. We saw all the monuments, museums, sites and highlights we intended to. Go-Ahead Tours was helpful, but not pushy or overly involved, which is the way we wanted it. We reccomend that you come prepared to "hit the ground running" on this tour!

Great vacation!

Just got back from our 3 city tour of London, Paris, and Amsterdam. Had a great time, it was everything one could hope for in a vacation. Excellent tour director Jim Mitchell; went out of his way to arrange excursions and provide advice for anyone wanting to go out on their own. Had a local guide in every city to do a quick tour. Breakfasts in every hotel were fantastic, not what you would expect from a continental breakfast. Only minor complaint was the London hotel was a bit out of the way, over a mile to the nearest Tube station, but a short busride away. Paris and Amsterdam hotels were centrally located and very nice. Free wifi in every hotel was an added plus. Overall a fantastic vacation at a reasonable price!

Fantastic Tour Leader

Alison was a fantastic leader on our London/Paris/Amsterdam trip and her warm , informative, and helpful guidance helped negate serious problems we had in the initial phase of our trip when the final payment we had made was misplaced. It is not clear what happened, but our bank had cashed the final payment several days before the due date. The trip itself had wonderful hotels and pleasant restaurants with good, if not great food. It was not made clear that we would have to transport our own luggage on the train trip from Paris to Amsterdam. Finally, we had good local guides, but many of the tour members were talking so lound during the presentations that it was difficult to hear the guides. Perhaps tour leaders could discuss courtesty towards local guides during the initial orientation discussion. Kudos to Go Tours for hiring Allie. She is a great asset !

London, Paris, Amsrerdam

A whirlwind tour to get a taste of each wonderful city was great. We took a 16 year old granddaughter, and really enjoyed the trip with her. Our tour guide was fun and helpful. When we weren't staying with the tour he offered suggestions and gave us directions. We chose this trip because of it's variety, which we got. I would recommend this trip to otheres.

This was our first trip with Go Ahead but definitely not our last! Our tour guide Richard was fantastic! We felt we had the perfect amount of time in each city (with Richard's help we made the most of each day) yet left still wanting more, perfect in our opinion. Our hotel accomodations were excellent, included meals were wonderful, we felt no corners were cut in these departments (or any for that matter). We felt safe in each city and the public transportation was easy to use as well. This tour comes highly recommended and we look forward to planning our next!

Beware of the Gypsy!

I definately love London. It is so much like New York and I felt right at ease moving around London.
Paris I adore but found it to be more for romantic couples/romance and the Parisians are nice but not as outgoing. The atmosphere is totally different from London.
Amsterdam is not what I expected it to be. It is cold and untrusting yet full of adventure, excitment and old and new world technology. Without notice or warning you can easily fall victim to the gypsies and left feeling totally trapped and helpless in a foreign country without help or direction to get home. Before all eyes, my friends purse with passport and all else was taken from her inside the hotel lobby. With the help of a wonderful all knowing tour director and the Go Ahead Tour Agency we were able to successfully return home. However, it was a cloudy and expensive trip home. So traveler beware of the gypsy in Amsterdam.

We saw much in 10 days

We like the idea that we were on our own in the ctities, in lieu of being excorted around. You learn more about the city and the people this way. The guide was there to help us, but we still had to make our own way.

LPA

The London hotel was not in the city which made it difficult to get back to when we were out touring until later on in the evening or when we went out for dinner or drinks b/c the above ground stopped running. Aside from that the hotel was great. The Stonehenge and Bath excursion was very enjoyable (probably my favorite part).
The Paris hotel was in a great location, there was plenty of public transportation to get to and from it and the Seine dinner and cruise was great, the restaurant was superb and even though it was a bit chilly the cruise was very entertaining.
The Amsterdam hotel was centrally located to all the areas that we wanted to see, so it couldn't have been better the food at all the cities was unbelievably delicious. The Amstel dinner cruise was a blast and probably the best night of the whole tour because our tour group had fun together and then hung out afterward.

A Life Time of Special Memories

My daughter and I picked this tour because you get 3 countries in a short time, which fit our schedules. Plus, she just got done taken French in school. Besides the normal tour stuff, which was great, definitely use your free time to explore the countries. You will learn and see more by yourselves as I describe in this review.
In London take the opportunity to ride the London Eye and enjoy the street performers. Go shopping in Soho where the unique shops have everything. Also, visit the Trafalgar’s Square to find inexpensive antiques at the Flea Market. Don’t forget to visit the Harry Potter 9 ¾ platform. Have fun finding it because it was a fun adventure for us figuring out which stop to get off the Underground Tube. Remember, when buying Tube ticket here 16 years old and under are considered children, which will save you money if traveling with teenagers. You must eat at the original famous Hard Rock Café. If you are a person that loves to exercise go to Hyde Park. You will get plenty of exercise there like we did because it is huge. Then last but not least go to the Tower of London.
In Paris you should definitely ride the Eiffel Tower to the top at night but be aware that some of the Metro trains stop running at midnight. The Metro can be confusing especially trying to get out with your ticket at those turnstiles. You have to be quick when you put your ticket in and move quickly through while grabbing your ticket. Hint “Sorté” in French means Exit. You can shop till you drop at the 5-story mall La Fayette in the Champs-Élysées area where you can find top of the line products like Prada, Gucci and many more. Be sure you keep plenty of change on you for the toilets because you have to pay at almost every public bathroom, which was definitely new for us. We enjoyed a boat tour and stopped to taste the street vendors crepes they were delicious. We again ate at the Hard Rock Café because we are trying to eat here in every country we visit by collecting shot glasses, a hobby of mine.
In Amsterdam the most thing we remember seeing is the hundreds and hundreds of bicycles everywhere. Take a boat tour down the canals and you will see a five story-parking garage filled with nothing but bicycles. It was amazing. You have to watch closely when crossing the road its like the game Frogger because you have the bicyclers lane and if you hear a ringing sound move quickly out of the path they will not stop and the car lanes and the street cars to look out for as well. We did the Amsterdam Dungeon ride that was fun. Then we ate at the Hard Rock Café again. Take a walk around the cobble streets to shop for wooden shoes just remember your shoe size is in centimeters and buy the beautiful stein mugs because you will never get lost you always end up back at the Dam Square. Behind the Church at the Dam Square you will find the Red Light District where you can window shop for a companion to spend time with for about 15 minutes or so and the best time to shop is during the day because at night you might be surprised what you see. There were small shops that sold unique gifts. Just remember everything in Amsterdam is legal.
Taking this tour with Go Ahead was one of the best decisions I could have made for my daughter and myself. The time and experiences we had together will forever be cherished. We lived, learned and grew from this adventure. We will go again but this time to Spain because my daughter has taken 3 years of Spanish.

Places I';ve Never Been

Tour director was very personable. Accomodations in some cities could have been better. Good tour for those who like independence. There were plenty of opportunities to venture off on your own. Learning the rail system was quite an experience.
