Why wait any longer to take this memorable trip through the United Kingdom and Ireland. The accommadations were splendid as were the delicious meals. Visit hisoric castles and see first-hand the magnificent history that surrounds you. I especially enjoyed the scenic train ride from London into Scotland. Above all, our tour guide was a wealth of interesting stories and knowlege of the area. Don't wait any longer, book your tour now.

Great time

We really enjoyed this trip to England, Scotland and Ireland. Against odds of bad weather, which usually occurs , we had beautiful weather. Our tour director, Judy, was very helpful in everything we did. She went at a slow pace when walking us to places. That really helped because we were senior citizens. The local guides gave us a lot of extra information on the various sights and history of the areas.
We were a small group so that enabled us to do more things and not have to wait in long lines for entrances into the sights. One memorable event was when our group went to Blaney Castle and they climbed the steps to kiss the Blaney Stone. They all made it to the top and kissed the stone.
Some did end up with "the gift of gab."
I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves to ride and see the countryside. The "Ring of Kerry" wa s beautiful .

Group Travel is the Way to Go

This was an incredible trip that I would never have attempted on my own. Going with a tour group and having everything organized and ready for us was so easy. I literally can't wait until I can go on another tour with Go Ahead.

Every minute of this tour was a delight. From getting a bird's eye view of London from the London Eye, to exploring Edinburgh Castle, to kissing the Blarney Stone, which was not an easy feat, to seeing the breathtaking sights around the Ring of Kerry and looking down from the Cliffs of Mohr, I had to keep pinching myself to see if I was dreaming. The sights, the sounds, the people, were all amazing! I saw a glimpse of what heaven must look like when I toured Ireland, such beautiful scenery! Everyone should make it a priority to visit England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland at least once in their lifetime! Go Ahead Tours makes it so easy because they hire the best. My tour director, Judy Lewin, was fantastic, and the local guides and bus drivers made our trip enjoyable as well as fun.

Great trip

We really enjoyed this trip. David did a great job as tour director, finding little out of the way fun attractions, such as the Sheep Dog exhibit! We were also glad that he was able to get us to the Food, Folklore and Fairies dinner and program in Dublin, it was a wonderful evening. We can't wait to go on another tour so that we can see more of the countrysides of England and Scotland!

A trip full of things to see

This was a great trip. Very relaxing and full of things to do or just to sit at a cafe and relax. Don't forget to see Westminster Abbey (worth the price) and Big Ben. Then take the river boat cruise from there, under the bridge, down to the Tower and go in. We took it back and then by the boats jumped on the tube (subway) to go to the West End for theater tickets we had gotten from our tour guide. The tube is very easy to get around on. User friendly and safe.
We didn't know there was going to be the London Premier of the last Harry Potter movie with the stars. We saw that, we went to dinner and our play.
What a day full of history and fun.

A fun trip to England, Scotland and Ireland with free time to explore the towns without the guide. It was fun taking the Train and a Ferry from Wales to Ireland something I haven't done on other goahead tours to other countries.Scotland was my favorite for food and the Royal mile had lots of things to do on your own.

Best of England, Scotland and Ireland

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. The people on our tour were lovely. Everybody was friendly and got along. No complainers. We enjoyed seeing the three countries and know where we want to return in the future. The only negative aspect was the pace of the tour - repacking every day or two days which is expected in such a short time with so much to see.

I really enjoyed The Best of England, Scotland, and Ireland trip. It was the perfect blend of relaxing but yet full of information and sightseeing. I really enjoyed the Traditional Irish Night. It was my favorite event of the tour. There were lots of performances and the food was delicious!! I also really enjoyed our bus drivers and the tour director! The bus drivers spend time with us outside of just driving our bus. They had great attitudes and answered any questions we had. Our tour director, Cornelius, was great! He sang songs and told us jokes. He made the experience so much better!

Fun trip with a lot to see

I feel like I got mot my money's worth on this trip. A guided tour means adhering to a schedule which means possibly a little too much time in one place and not enough time in another but, overall, I was satisfied with the schedule we followed. The tour guide, Matt, was great. Had a lot of fun and met some real nice people. I would definitely consider doing a tour like this again. Or maybe a type of tour that allows more free time and more freedom on where to go and what to see. Who knows? Overall, a very positive experience.

Great Tour

We knew from the tour description that a lot of time would be spent on the bus. But fortunately, the weather was better than expected and the tour director was great. The local guides were also good.

Wonderful Introduction British Highlights

This was an outstanding experience and wonderful introduction to the highlights of England, Scotland, and Ireland. Having only seen the highlights, I now want more indepth trips to see other sights and explore those visited on this trip at a leisurely pace. On occasion, however, it was difficult having to move luggage ourselves and some of the physically-challenged guests were not able to experience all of the activities.

Good Sightseeing Trip

I have to start off saying the go ahead representatives tell you anything you want to hear until they have your money. I was giving a $50 credit but then told i have to pay another $100 for increase in fuel charges. I called the airline and they said they did NOT raise the price of a ticket by $100?. It was my honeymoon and i was told they would book my spouse and i together as a couple on the plane and we ended up being apart on both 7 hour flights. They said having seperate names would not be a problem but it was. I was also told the exension t to london always sells out and it did indeed sold out but 1 week before the trip i got a call that it was not sold out and we had to get our own transportation from the airport to the hotel and were were on our own.
. After traveling for over 14 hours we arrived at the Kensington Close hotel in london and was told we could not check in until another 5 hours. We slept in their hallway until they brought us a key. It was record heat in london and our room had no working air condition,no soda machine,no ice and no water to drink. We had to stay their for 4 nights thanks to go ahead choosing this hotel for us
Before choosing this trip . I was concerned about the amount of traveling(i get motion sickness) was told the train was only 4 hours-it was a 6 hour travel from london to Scotland. Ferry to Ireland was 5 hours since high speed ferry was cancelled.
Just be aware there is alot of traveling. 4 days of the trip is just traveling to the next destination and when you get there you have very limited time You get to eat then rush back to the bus to go to the hotel. Once you get to the hotel you can't go anywhere unless you take a taxi because go ahead books you in a hotel that outside all the cities. Everyone just hung around the hotel until dinner which they give you at the hotel.
We spend 7 hours in the bus to get to the Cliffs of Moher which we could not see since it was zero visibility due to extreme fog. We ended up going back to the hotel. Instead of going somewhere else we just stopped at a town for a 15 minute picture break then headed back to the hotel which we sat around until dinner. All dinners included in the package were at the hotel except for one which was very disappointing.
The plus side of the trip is that you do get to see alot of places but thru the window of the bus. The tour director was very good as well and very knowledgable and had a great sense of humor which made the traveling not so bad.
In the future i will be booking my own hotels and plane tickets so i can sit with my spouse

Response from Go Ahead ToursBy Go Ahead ToursCustomer Relations DepartmentNovember 30, 2011
My name is Kelly and I manage our Evaluation & Quality Control Department at Go Ahead Tours. I’m sorry to learn that your experience traveling with Go Ahead Tours did not meet your expectations. I can assure you that we take feedback about our tours very seriously and are consistently working with both our customers and Tour Directors to make improvements in order to provide the best possible experience to our customers.

At Go Ahead Tours we operate under group contracts with most major airlines in order to keep costs down for our customers. However, these contracts can come with certain restrictions such as specific seat assignment. Seat assignment procedures vary greatly between airlines and while we do assign seats for all of our customers, it is the airlines discretion when it comes to specific seat assignments. We recommend that our customers contact the airline they are traveling with thirty days prior to departure in order to make specific seating requests. With regards to the airline fuel surcharge, we make every effort to maintain low prices for our customers, which is why we reserve airline space in advance and for that reason we indicate in our booking conditions that the cost of fuel surcharge fees may vary before your tour departs. The decision to pass these costs along to our customers is a very difficult one to make, however can become necessary with the increase in airline fuel costs.

On the day of arrival to tour we appreciate that our customers are tired and looking forward to relaxing before beginning their tour. We do our best to work with the hotels so that rooms are ready upon arrival, however it is not always possible. Standard check-in time in Europe is 3pm. If rooms are not immediately available the hotel will happily store your luggage if you wise to spend the time exploring the area around your hotel. The tube station is located a short walk from the Kensington Hotel in London, making it easy to reach various points of interest throughout the city. The amenities and use of air conditioning in European hotels varies greatly from the standard American hotel, which I can understand is an adjustment.

We rate the pace of the tour in our brochure to reflect the amount of places and time spent traveling between them and I do apologize if the correct expectations were not set as far as the distances you would be covering while traveling through England, Scotland, and Ireland. It is great to hear how much you enjoyed your Tour Director as we pride ourselves on having the most experienced and helpful guides in the travel industry! Again we thank you for your feedback and hope that in the end you enjoyed your time on tour and that we will have pleasure of welcoming you on another Go Ahead Tour in the future.

England, Scotland and Ireland 9-28-11

My tour started out sitting on a plane to london ten rows away from my new wife. A go ahead supervisor, Kara, had already told me that when you book together with go ahead they always place you together on the flights. When we arrived in london at our hotel at 8;30am. we were told we could not check in until 2:00pm. come back. The first hotel the Kensington Close was the dirtiest sub-par hotel i have ever stayed in. In the states these hotels are called "flea bags". The next few maldon hotels were very clean and nice in Scotland and Ireland. The only draw back to the hotels is that most of them were outside of the cities making getting there on down time difficult. Go ahead tours should feel lucky to have tour directors like Matt. Matt knew a great deal of information about all of the places and subjects presented to him. Matt is a very pesonable man and he really made this tour interesting and enjoyable. Be warned there is a lot of bus travel on this tour. After being assured By the supervisor Kara that she would personally make sure that my new wife and i would be seated together on the 8 hour flight home, i gave up on go ahead when my wife and i sat five rows apart on the flight home. In closing the tour was great but the service from the booking go ahead staff was horrible. The booking people will lie to you and do not try to fix any problems you might have. After you are done with these people and get with the real profesionals like the tour director Matt you will have a great trip. T

This was my and my daughter's first international trip and we could not have been more pleased. All accommodations, the group, our guide, Joel Reid, was above and beyond comparison. Our next trip will be with Go Ahead tours, no doubt.
