betty and i enjoyed every day we were there .the tulip garden was beyond
words.our guide (christina) is very knowledgeable of the history of amsterdam,
and we learned a lot. and i think our guide deserves her photo and and her
abilities in your go-ahead tour ads. the last day there i fell from a street curb
a half block from the ann frank house, and broke my left arm at the shoulder
joint our guide got us a cab to the hotel.about 20 minutes later she was back at
the hotel.i told i i thought my arm was broke she got a cab and went with us to
the hospital. she all so went to the airport and helped us get to the plane.
amsterdam is clean a very friendly people. all in all a well worth tour.,also

One of the Best Trips I've taken

Accomodations were wonderful, centrally located where you could take advantage of Amsterdam sights. Optional tours were for the most part good especially the trip to Koekenhof Gardens and Alsmeer. Would definitely book another trip with Go Ahead Tours.

Worth going for Keukenhof

Had a great time and meet some of the most wonderful people. Went as a single traveler but never felt alone thanks to all the great people. Keukenhof Gardens alone is worth the price of the trip to me. It was beyond my high expectations.
Amsterdam is a very easy city to walk in and did lots of walking. The hotel was nice and in a great central location.
You can be as active as you want or take it easy. The choice is yours. I was active and saw as much of the city as possible.
One negative: Voldendam excursion is very commercial and touristy but was as advertised. Not very rustic I must say.

Amsterdam & the Keukenhof Gardens: Tulips in Bloom

The beauty of Amsterdam is something we'll always remember. I now understand why it's called the Venice of the North. The canals were endlessly fascinating and exploring them by boat was a real treat. Walking around the city is very easy and also tons of fun. The ability to see works by some of the world's most famous artists was also a thrill I won't forget. The Keukenhof Gardens were an amazing place. The volume of flowers that are shipped from the garden are staggering and the efficiency of the operation was very impressive. The gardens themselves were quite beautiful. And even though we had missed the major tulip blooms by a few weeks there were still plenty of tulips to explore. I had no idea how many varieties, colors, and styles of tulips there are. Our tour director was wonderful and was able to really help us understand the culture and history of the country we were visiting. This is a trip I would take again in a heartbeat.

This tour included the trip to the gardens in Holland. The drive was about an hour long with a stop afterward at a diamond factory. We were only allowed 3 hours at the gardens (this is mostly what I came to see) it is several acres and I felt the time frame was to short. The diamond factory was a bore and should have been done on a different day other then the day of the gardens. At least 4 hours would have been better.
Voldendam (a fishing village) was too touristy......back alleys the homes along the little canal a much better idea of dutch living. The city could be left out of tour.
The Anne Frank Haus was very interesting, also the canal tour afterward was great. Did some walking through the city of Amsterdam, great way to see the culture and taking public transportation.
The rest of the trip and tours were good and interesting!

KEUKENHOF AND THE NETHERLANDS

We were blessed with great weather(no control) and a great tour director(control). Our hotel was located close to restaurants and museums.
We only had 3 hours at Keukenhof which was not enough time. I would have eliminated the cheese maker and added more time to the garden. I was pleased with the composition of the group, everyone got along!

Beatiful Keukenhof Gardens

It was a wonderful experience for my wife and myself visiting Amsterdam and the Keukenhof Gardens from April 23 to May 01,2010. If you are a flower lover this is the place to go.
The tour was not perfect, but Go Ahead Tours can fix the problem with some small changes to the tour.
It was our first visit to Amsterdam and we enjoy the trip so much that we are planning a second visit.
We do not recommend the dinner canal cruise tour. Save your money to visit
a good restaurant in Amsterdam.
The time allocated to the tour to the village of Volledam is too short. It is a beautiful place and two hours are needed to enjoy the food and see all the stores.
We recommend all the extra excurtions that Go Ahead offers except the canal dinner tour.
Our tour director was Thomas Kreiseler. Oustanding person. We suggest that if you want to do this tour;which we recommend, ask to be place in his group. We wish for a Thomas Kreiseler in every tour from now on.
For the two negatives that we encounter there were many great experiences
on this tour.
We can not rate the tour a 10 because of the two negatives, but we recommend the tour as close to excellent.

Wonderful tour

One of my most enjoyable vacations for photography and culture of the Dutch people. Amsterdam is destined to be my favorite city and looking forward to returning. The highlights were the Keukenhof Gardens and the Concertgebouw concert. (I'm a musician) The museums of course were fabulous. (This was my 4th visit to Amsterdam.) The side trips were excellent but if one takes them not only are they expensive but there is little time left to see the city. There was something every day leaving little time for the museums or sight seeing. Too much rushing around to see everything. I have excellent slides. (I show them to retirement and nursing homes.) I loved the hotel because it was so near the museums, next door actually. It was a great trip and I thank you for taking good care of us.
sincerely
