I enjoyed this trip so much. It was everything I had hoped for. I really loved New England in the Fall. If my family were not so far away I might think about moving there. I did something in Salem that I had always wanted to do. I rode a Segway! This was a really unique way to see the town. Thank you . And now on to Bucket List Trip Number #2...Ireland!!

Coastal New England Foliage Tour

Our group never had an orientation to meet each other and therefore never bonded. The bus did not make as many stops to see historic places as I would have liked. The hotel in Portland Maine was one of the worst I've ever stayed at. The tour guide imparted minimal information. Other Go ahead guides we have had have been outstanding so we were surprised at this. She was very sweet though. The places we did stop were just fine though. The lobster dinner was excellent and the bus driver was a "kick"!

Too many on a bus with only one exit as the tour guide would be blocks away and talking before the people in the back of the buss unloaded and could join the group.

Enjoyed the trip. Take the trolley tour in Boston. It is good for 2 days and you can see more and do more than riding the tour bus. The Prudential excursion is not worth it. You can do this on your own. Would have liked 2 days in Salem instead of 2 days in Portland. Loved the Hawthorne hotel..plenty of paranormal activity..but not the type to scare you or keep you awake. You have to know where and what to look for. Go on-line and book the ghost tour in Salem that is run by a paranormal to avoid the touristy ones. Lots to see and do in Salem, but not enough time. Plan on another Go-Ahead trip next May.

Enjoyable Trip but needs work.

The trip was enjoyable and I learned history of our country but the tour needs some work. I would enjoyed more time in Salem. It is rich in history and 1 afternoon & night is not enough time. 1 day with the lobster dinner would have been enough time in Portland or maybe even just the lobster for lunch instead of dinner. Maybe the time could be divided better between Salem & Portland. The Prudential with lunch was a disappointment. Lunch at Skipjacks could have been eliminated with time better spent elsewhere. The description was misleading. I was under the impression, lunch would be in the Pruedential not lunch before then visit the Pruedential. I did enjoy the tour & don't regret going, there's just somethings which could improve the trip.

New England Fall Color and History

Boston is a great place to tour with so much history and numerous historical sites. There is way too much culture in Bean Town for a short visit. The GoAhead tour director and local guides were excellent. Accomodations were very comofortable and were in excellent locations. Would have really liked to have done the options to the islands and Cape Cod - not available.

Revolutionary Heroes--Plus

From the historic city of Boston to Lexington and Concord and beyond, we experienced the historic beginings of these United States. Our step-on guide made it all come alive again---Paul Revere's ride, the shot heard 'round the world, the brave colonists seeking independence and freedom. The trip north to Salem, Portsmouth, Kennebunkport and Portland, Maine gave us perspective on early seafaring trade. It was a fun, relaxing trip crowned by a delicious lobster dinner!

Starting with stay at the wonderful Marriott Copely Square and a delicious seafood dinner at Legal Seafood, the best I have even eaten, this tour was a combination of history, narrated by the superb Steve, fine dining, warm and lovely people, informative tour guide Yvette and the BEST driver; my husband and I really loved this trip.
I have some mobility issues and everyone was attentive and accommodating. It was really so much fun. I cannot say enough good things about the careful planning, range of stops, and even the weather was delightful. The buffet breakfast at Marriott and Hawthorne Inn were excellent, not so much in Portland. You can take it easy or hike about.
